Joni & Kris' Winter Wedding

My 1st wedding in 2015 was the gorgeous winter wedding of Joni & Kris at Melrose Market Studios! Joni is the spunkiest & funniest client I have ever had and Kris was the perfect yin of calm and rational to her yang of a mile a minute chatter. They are the perfect pair!!

To begin, can we please talk about this dress!??! I mean, how frick'n gorgeous is this?!! The gold sequined cap sleeve top against the gold threaded lace skirt is to die for!! And her pairing it with a white faux stole was beyond!! My favorite winter look of all time!
And if you think she is too adorable with her birdcage and Pike's Place Market bouquet, just look at Kris' navy wool suit, bow tie and man bun! Perfection!!
Melrose Market Studios makes for a perfect winter wedding location because of the low ceilings, dark wood floors and brick walls. We added a champagne pintuck linen to the tables and Joni's aunt made the wooden centerpieces. It gave off a cozy and homey feeling!!

Vintage Ambiance provided all of the votives and glass succulent vases, chalkboard signs, the bar, and hot chocolate stand. The amazing Ravishing Radish team catered the delish family style dinner.
This wedding was truly a family event! Kris's brother played their processional music (while walking down the aisle, quite impressive) and Kris' grandfather became ordained to marry them - so sweet! He even wore his badge of certification during the ceremony;)

Joni & Kris surprised their guests during their recessional by having a live musician jump in and play their 1st dance song - while they were halfway down the aisle! So fun! After their first dance guests were welcomed to cocktail hour!
What doesn't taste better after dancing a few hours than Dick's Burgers?!Guests and staff enjoyed a late night bite to close down the Capital Hill reception!

Thank you again to Joni & Kris for letting me be a part of your wedding!! You two are the best! And another congratulations is due very soon!! Joni is due with their 1st child next month! Fingers crossed it is an anniversary baby!!

And around of applause to the fabulous vendors who participated in the wedding!!

Valerie & James' Ballard Rooftop Wedding!

Valerie Leonard & James Barrington - the two of these people make up the best dang couple EVER! Yes, they are gorgeous looking, but in addition they are SO FUN to be around! They have that quick witty banter that is usually only heard in Hollywood comedies and they have so much adoration and support for one another, it leaves you with the feeling, 'gosh, I could really be nicer to my husband'...at  least for me anyway;)

James is the owner of several of Seattle's best food trucks and Valerie recently took over the catering side to their Hallava Falafel truck. (See my last blog post where the Hallava Falafel truck catered!) Together they make the best team in and out of business! The two got married this September in their neighborhood of Ballard at the Olympic Rooftop at the Hotel Ballard.

The uber talented Marissa Maharaj was their photographer and began snapping at the Ballard Inn where Valerie & her ladies got ready for the day.

James & Valerie's first look was in downtown Ballard and then they took off to the locks for some outdoor photos. So gorg!
Eleanor of bash & bloom created all of the centerpieces, ceremony arch and personal flowers for the day. Valerie was a bridesmaid in her wedding earlier this year and it was so fun to have us all back together again for the day:)
The ceremony was hilarious & heartfelt! Comedian and family friend, Pat Cashman of The 206 officiated the wedding under the Olympic Rooftop's crystal chandeliers and skylights.
After a cocktail hour in the Ballard Hotel guests came upstairs to an amazing family style dinner from Stoneburner. So good!! The weather was a perfect sunny day in Seattle and the glass doors were open to provide a gentle breeze to the guests!
After dinner guests enjoyed heartfelt speeches, delicious desserts and a few surprises during the first dances. As a surprise to the bride Valerie's dad hired professional dancers to interrupt their dance to bust a move. Guests got to partake a bit and that opened up the dance floor - so fun!

Thank you Valerie & James for letting me be a part of your wedding!! Drinks at Targy's soon please;)
